Membership

As a new member, you become part of the future of the Sons of Italy. In order to enhance your membership experience, we ask and hope that all members attend meetings on a regular basis and be willing to serve on a committee.

Meetings are held on the third Sunday of January, February, March, April, June, September and October.

In order to become a member, the following criteria must be met:

 

  • Any person of Italian birth or descent and all others prescribed by the Order;
  • You must be at least 16 years old; and
  • You must have a current club member sponsor you.

2012 Scholarship Form

Scholarships are awarded on scholastic ability (a minimum 3.0 grade point average), character, number of activities, financial need and the quality of completed required essays.

Applicants should include the following items in their scholarship packet:

 

  • A completed application form;
  • A letter of recommendation from a high school principal or guidance counselor. College students should seek a recommendation from a university representative;

     

  • A letter of recommendation from a non-related individual who has known the applicant for a minimum of three years;
  • Their most recent official transcripts;
  • ACT or SAT scores;
  • A recent photo; and
  • Two essays on what the applicant's Italian heritage means to him/her and what his/her future career plans are.
